Status Saver & Story Download does not require an account, so there is no “account” to delete. Everything the app stores about you lives on your device, and you control it directly. There are three ways to remove that data — pick whichever fits your situation.

Option 1 — Delete in-app (most common)

  1. Open Status Saver & Story Download.
  2. Tap Settings in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to Data Management.
  4. Tap Wipe All Local Data.
  5. Confirm.

This removes:

  • The captured chat-history database (every WhatsApp / WA Business notification the app has saved).
  • The saved-files index (the list of statuses you tapped “save” on; the files themselves are deleted from your Downloads folder too).
  • Cached chat-media thumbnails the app extracted from notifications.

It does notremove your in-app preferences (accent colour, theme, retention window, recent search queries) or the folder grants you’ve issued. To remove those too, use Option 2.

Option 2 — Full wipe via Android Settings

  1. Open the device Settings app.
  2. Go to Apps Status Saver & Story Download.
  3. Tap StorageClear data and Clear cache.

This removes everything the app has stored on the device, including preferences and folder grants.

Option 3 — Uninstall

Long-press the app icon → Uninstall. Android removes all app data when the app is uninstalled.

Off-device data

The app does not run a backend that stores your messages, statuses, or saved files. The only off-device data is anonymous identifiers used by the third-party SDKs we embed:

  • Google AdMob — Android Advertising ID, ad-request metadata.
  • Firebase Remote Config — Firebase Installation ID, config-request metadata.
  • PostHog — random anonymous UUID + performance timings.

To request deletion of that anonymous data:

  • Email:
  • Subject:“Deletion request — Status Saver & Story Download”
  • Please mention the approximate date you last used the app so we can forward the request to the right vendor windows.

We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days.

What gets retained?

Nothing related to you — there is no user account, no message store on our servers, and no archive that survives the deletion options above. Aggregate, non-identifying ad-impression and feature-flag-fetch counts held by Google may persist in their systems under their retention policies; we have no way to surface those to you because they are not linked to you.
